Description

A James Cagney Large Collection of 'Residual' Correspondence from Warner Bros. Studios, 1940s-1950s. Approximately 40 documents, all housed in a large white 3-ring binder, all addressed to "Mr. James Cagney," on various styles of WB letterhead, covering about an eight year period from 1947 to 1955, mostly related to the residual pay the actor received from the studio for his films; included are countless spreadsheets with meticulously-detailed columns of numbers showing what Cagney's films had grossed and netted and what was due to him; for example, in August of 1947, Cagney received a residual check in the amount of $480,849.65 for his 1942 film, "Yankee Doodle Dandy" -- not bad pay for the 1940s; this collection truly gives one an appreciation for the art of accounting and record-keeping as every last penny related to the actor's films seems to have been accounted for on all these documents!
    Each document mostly: 11" x 8 1/2"

The movie quite literally changed my life. I have included a pic of me in Sly's Rocky 3 Cashmere overcoat, would much appreciate if it is possible for you to forward this email to Sly to let him know the overcoat is in good hands, and will be well taken care of, (as will be the Rambo knife forging tools, the other lot I won!) Wish you very happy holidays and a great 2016!
