    A Dick Powell and Joan Blondell Collection of Books Signed by Dorothy Parker Plus Other Items, 1930s-1940s. Seven items total including: 1) a book 'Laments for the Living' by Dorothy Parker, signed by her in black fountain pen ink in part to "Dick Powell," with a "Joan and Dick Powell" bookplate; 2) a book 'Death and Taxes' by Dorothy Parker, signed by her in black fountain pen ink in part to "Dick Powell;" 3) a book 'Enough Rope' by Dorothy Parker; 4) a book 'Sunset Gun' by Dorothy Parker, signed by her in black fountain pen ink in part to "Dick Powell," with same bookplate as noted above; 5) a book 'I'm a Stranger Here Myself' by Ogden Nash, signed by him in blue fountain pen ink in part "to the Powell tribe;" 6) a maroon leather photo album, embossed on the spine and cover "Dick Misc.," filled with very miscellaneous black and white photographs mostly of Powell and friends in their private lives, including one early sepia headshot of Ginger Rogers circa 1930 signed by her in black fountain pen ink in part "To Dick;" and 7) a small oil on canvas/board painting depicting a blonde pregnant woman, signed in the lower right "Joan Blondell '34" -- most likely a self-portrait when the actress was expecting her first child, Norman, our current consignor; from the Estate of Dick Powell and Joan Blondell; included with a Certificate of Provenance signed by their son. (Please note all dust jackets are in brittle condition.)
