Thirteen pieces total, all regarding the celebrated award show including: 1) a carbon copy of a typed letter, dated "July 1, 1947," to "Mr. Charles Chaplin" from the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association expressing their anger towards Chaplin's indifference to them; 2) a carbon copy of a typed letter, dated "March 9, 1949," to "Mr. Douglas Fairbanks, Jr." (from the HFCA) inviting him to the "Annual Press Awards Dinner...on... March 16, 1949...at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel;" 3) a typed letter on Ambassador Hotel letterhead, dated "December 19, 1949," to "Miss Violet Kinney" of the HFCA confirming that the "Global Award Dinner" taking place there would be "$4.00 per person, plus tax;" 4) a typed letter on HFCA letterhead, dated "January 29, 1950," to "Mr. Gene Kelly," asking him to be the Master of Ceremonies at the "Eighth Annual Golden Globe Awards Dinner;" 5) a typed letter on Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer letterhead, dated "February 2, 1950," to "Violet Kinney," noting that Kelly would be able to be MC; 6) a carbon copy of a typed letter, dated "February 3, 1950," to "Mr. Gene Kelly," (from the HFCA) thanking him for accepting the MC job; 7) a carbon copy of a typed letter, dated "March 14, 1950," to "Mr. Alfred Hitchcock" (from the HFCA) thanking Hitch for going to "Lucy's Restaurant" along with "Mr. Errol Flynn and Mr. Leon Gordon;" 8) a typed letter, dated "April 5, 1950," to the HFCA thanking them for the "special honor," signed in blue foutain pen ink "Brod. Crawford" [he won the Golden Globe for 'Best Motion Picture Actor' for Columbia's 1949 film, "All the King's Men"]; 9) a typed letter on Twentieth Century-Fox letterhead, dated "March 5th, 1951," to the HFCA, thanking them for awarding "Broken Arrow," signed in black fountain pen ink by Julian Blaustein; 10) a HFCA membership form, dated "August 29, 1951," signed in black foutain pen ink by new member "Charles Brackett;" 11) a registration certificate, issued by the State of California, indicating that"The Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association...duly registered its name and insignia...on the twenty-fourth day of May, A.D. 1948; 12) a script from the 31st Annual Golden Globes Awards in 1974; and 13) a script from the 39th Annual Golden Globe Awards in 1982 -- overall, a great group of manuscripts relating to one of Hollywood's most prestigious award shows.
