Description

1915-18 Triangle Motion Picture Company Original Story Treatments and Shooting Scripts. A total of 16 original story treatments and two shooting scripts (unfilmed) from archives of Triangle Motion Picture Company (formed by Thomas H. Ince, D.W. Griffith, and Mack Sennett), including: The Throwback by Oscar-nominated writer Josephine Lovett, with notes on Ince's ownership (in an unknown hand) on cover: "Property of NYMPC. Purchased by T.H.I. (Thomas H. Ince) Finish will have to be changed." Ince directed films for New York Motion Picture Company (NYMPC) before partnering up with Griffith and Sennett in 1915, making this treatment a fairly early one from his Hollywood years, one that he took with him from NYMPC to Triangle. Other treatments include The Evil Intruder by Monte Katterjohn, God's Deal by Julien Josephsen (with a note to hold for Ince written on cover), The Eternal Fire by Olga Printzlau, among others. Two "shooting scripts" are also included: A Yankee Princess by W.H. Clifford, and Her Price by Lanier Bartlett (with a handwritten note on the censors' editing of the "spicy" story). In overall Very Good condition with center creasing, moderate age-toning, minor nicks to borders, and very minor rusting from original clips. Each stored in original, labeled filing envelopes from Triangle archives. From the Thomas H. Ince Archives.
