    Dana Andrews "Fred Derry" jacket from The Best Years of Our Lives. (Goldwyn Company, 1946) Dana Andrews plays handsome Air Force bombardier "Fred Derry" in the post WWII drama, The Best Years of Our Lives, which went on to win 7 Academy Awards. This is a vintage, fitted Eisenhower-style Captain's jacket of dark green wool with cargo chest flap pockets, belted waist and button front closure. Embroidered bars, wings and U.S. monograms decorate lapels, epaulettes and above the left chest pocket with military color bars affixed above left pocket. Retaining Western Costume bias label on internal pocket with "31765" ink stamp and handwritten, "Dana Andrews". Costume supervision by Irene Sharaff. With some staining to interior green lining. Overall, in vintage very good to fine condition.
