Description

Two Edie Adams Stage Worn Gowns. Following the death of Edie Adams' husband, Ernie Kovacs in 1962, Edie was frequently seen in New York City in the company of Rock Hudson "doing the town." Here we offer two gorgeous gowns along with photo matches of Edie with her equally glamorous escort Rock Hudson. The first dress, a black wool crepe Galanos sleeveless floor length gown, elaborately embroidered in loops of wool yarn in a rug making technique, embellished with chenille yarns, sequins, silk wrapped cord embroidery and beaded garnet drops, resulting in pure elegance. The second, a classically draped floor length deep blue velvet gown, the sleeveless bodice billowing down to the waist and then cascading to the floor with a straight skirt, the back open in a "V" to the waist and finished with a swag covering the center back zipper. In Very Fine condition, two of Edie's treasures that are even more alluring beside her frequent date, and co-star in the 1961 comedy Lover come Back, Rock Hudson. Accompanied by a hardcover copy of Edie Adams' autobiography, Sing a Pretty Song. From the Ernie Kovacs/Edie Adams Estate Archive.
