Tony Randall 7 Faces of Dr. Lao Costume Wig. A dark brown wig worn by Randall as the satyr in the 1964 fantasy film; the role was one of several played by the actor in the film. Hand-tied and made from human hair, the wig includes both a storage box re-used by MGM and the original wig stock record card. The cardboard box is labeled: "1301 -- Dk. Brown -- 1850 -- T. Randall"; the stock card reads "Stock No. 1301, Original Player: Tony Randall, Dk. Brown 1850" with the notation "9-30-64 Taken on tour with Bill Tuttle." Tuttle, chief of MGM's make-up department for over 30 years, won an Honorary Award from the Academy for his work on 7 Faces of Dr. Lao. The wig has been restyled for photography; overall, it is in Very Fine condition with slight fraying to the front lace. From The MGM Wig Archive.
