Three Edie Adams Pieces, Two Screen-Worn and One-Stage Worn. These sumptuous pieces represent Edie Adams' work both on stage and screen. Three wonderfully sophisticated black velvet items, the first, by William Baer Furs, is a black velvet shrug trimmed at top and bottom in white mink. Next is a John Cavanagh design, seen worn by Edie Adams on a 1966 cover of the Cleveland Press and News, TV Showtime Snapshot, is a single button jacket with two placket pockets and trimmed with a white fur collar and lined in cream satin. Accompanying the jacket is a straight fitted skirt lined in black satin. The third costume is an elegant floor length hooded cape trimmed in white mink and lined in cream satin. Included is a photograph of Edie holding the leash of a lion cub while singing on stage, wearing this elegant cape which is pooling on the floor, her arms extending through slots and the hood held in place with an attached comb. All pieces are in Very Fine to Very Good condition, with stains to the cream satin lining of the suit jacket, and matting to the fur trim of the shrug. Accompanied by a hardcover copy of Edie Adams' autobiography, Sing a Pretty Song. From the Ernie Kovacs/Edie Adams Estate Archive.Auction Info
