Description

The Running Man (TriStar, 1987), Maria Conchita Alonso "Mendez" Adidas "Running Man" Jumpsuit. Original yellow and gray collarless long-sleeve spandex running jumpsuit with red side piping and a scoop neck, worn by Maria Conchita Alonso as Mendez, the television reporter taken hostage by Ben Richards (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and later thrown into the game by Killian (Richard Dawson). The suit features double-layered sleeves with smooth under-sleeves and faux quilted, gusseted over-sleeves, integral stirrups, silkscreened red Adidas logos on the right sleeve and left hip, "Mendez" printed on the chest, "Running Man" on the left leg, and a back zipper closure. Although she initially believes Richards to be the infamous "Butcher of Bakersfield," Mendez eventually discovers he is innocent and becomes a key ally in helping him expose the corruption of ICS. Includes 1-typewritten wardrobe tag reading "Maria Conchita Alonso / 'The Running Man' / Tri-Star / 1987," and 1-interior bias label with handwritten "Karen" in marker. Exhibits age, fading to print, crumbling foam, production wear, and handling. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
