DescriptionThe 'Meat Locker' Sweat Suit from "Rocky Balboa" (aka "Rocky VI"). Metro Goldwyn Mayer, 2006. Black Discus Athletic hooded cotton sweatshirt with "Rocky" handwritten on label and Universal Studios inventory tag. Together with grey cotton sleeveless shirt, Russell grey hooded sweatshirt and pants intentionally distressed with fake blood. With costumer's tags, used in the 'meat punching' scene by Stallone as "Rocky Balboa."
"Rocky going into the meat locker was significant, a callback to the original Rocky. Symbolically, it just showed how primitive and violent the culture of boxing is and how Rocky had to, once again, get into his mindset for the fight of his life. He had to take the pain and also give the punishment. The meat represented what was ahead, and he's wearing his 'uniform' here -- the gray sweats that Rocky was always most comfortable in."
