The Last Pair of Boxing Gloves from "Rocky Balboa" (aka "Rocky VI"). Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 2006. Black, Everlast brand, in used condition; worn by Stallone as "Rocky Balboa" in the climactic fight against Antonio Tarver as "Mason 'The Line' Dixon" -- the now-historic last fight ever of the "Rocky" character.

"Getting to play Rocky Balboa in the last movie was to me the greatest triumph I've ever had in my life because it was so hard to get it done! The film was made against the willingness of a lot of participants and it was one of the most difficult journeys of my life. It was a film that people thought really didn't need to be made but I felt there was still more of the story to be told. I wanted to end the Rocky movies in a certain way. I knew we had to go deep and we had to do something extraordinary to pull this off. It's not about fighting. Rocky is full of grief and he has to get that grief out. The only way he knows how is through physical endeavor -- fighting. Rocky is not trying to win a championship or make money, he's trying to rid himself of grief. He's trying to replace the pain and the loss because everything that he's loved has moved on and he's left behind. The only way he can express himself is through fighting. And the fight where I used these gloves is very meaningful to me and to the character because it purged Rocky of all the demons that haunted him since Adrian's death. To me, this last fight is Rocky's greatest battle. And I designed these gloves in a way that when you put your fists inside them, you can curl up which makes the front a little softer -- that way we were able to punch each other with alot of force!"
