Description

The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (Universal, 1982), Dom DeLuise "Melvin P. Thorpe" Jacket. Original single-breasted burgundy leather jacket with orange suede blocking across the chest and back and fringe along the arms and across the back. The lapels are trimmed with burgundy suede and feature silver-colored metal star embellishments along the collar and back. The jacket features a Western Costume Co. bias label that is typed "No. 2699-5. Name, Dom DeLuise. Chest, 45. Sleeve, 15 ¼." Melvin (Dom DeLuise) wears this jacket when he and his film crew infiltrate the "Chicken Ranch" for an exposé. Displays production wear and age. There is one star missing on the front lapel and the back has two out of three feather embellishments missing. The suede is worn and discolored in places. Obtained from Butterfield & Butterfield, October 10, 1993, Lot #1326. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
