Description
The Amazing Spider-Man (CBS TV, 1977-1979), Promotional Costume. Vintage original costume for the short-lived superhero TV series. The costume consists of a one-piece stretch suit with blue and red fabric panels, printed black web lines on red portions and spider icon on the chest, integral red faux leather soles at foot bottoms, integral red gloves, appliqued fabric spider icon on the back and an over-the-head Spider-Man hood/mask with see-through mesh cat's eye panels edged with black nylon applique. The suit is worn by slipping a rear opening stretching across the back, from one shoulder to the other, and is fastened with a hidden zipper. Retaining the internal "Eaves Costume Company, Inc. New York" maker's label. Exhibits production wear with discoloration and small tears throughout, with considerable tearing to the gloves below the elbows. Evidence of previous repair using staples running the length of the forearm. Lot does not include promotional poster. Obtained from Golden Closet. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.Auction Info
