Description

Terminator 2: Judgement Day (Carolco, 1991), Arnold Schwarzenegger "Terminator" Signature Final Sequence Costume Ensemble. Original (7) piece signature costume ensemble including (1) black leather motorcycle jacket with snap-down notched lapels, zippered chest pocket, 2-slash hip pockets, zippered sleeve cuffs, lace-up side adjusters, black rayon lining, and integral waist belt with adjustable steel buckle. To accommodate Schwarzenegger's real arm being positioned behind his back while wearing the mangled endo-arm prosthetic, the jacket was intentionally cut into two halves. Also includes (1) black vinyl-coated imitation leather pants with polyblend lining, zipper front closure, and ankle zippers at each leg, retaining handwritten "P" in white marker, (1) gray cotton T-shirt with back zipper closure, featuring a large, studio-created hole at the chest to reveal the underlying endoskeleton, (1) metalized hard resin chest plate over foam padding, sculpted to simulate damaged endoskeleton structure with latex "flesh" remnants and blood gel staining, secured to the actor via dual nylon webbing straps and Velcro closures, (1) metalized resin and urethane knee prosthetic with articulated design, representing exposed endoskeleton beneath torn skin, fastened by eight elastic Velcro straps, retaining handwritten "A.S. / 2" and "#2", (1) left arm prosthetic constructed with a latex upper "flesh" section transitioning to exposed metalized resin endoskeleton components, accompanied by a tan resin shoulder cap with latex remnants and leather lining, secured with four side-release buckle straps, retaining original placement labels for on-set reference, and (1) black leather belt with metal buckle. Worn by Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800 Terminator in the climactic final battle sequence of Terminator 2: Judgment Day. This ensemble was featured prominently in the film's climactic steel mill sequence, depicting the T-800's final confrontation with the T-1000 (Robert Patrick). The costume reflects the extensive battle damage sustained by the character, revealing the underlying cybernetic structure through torn garments and shredded "flesh". Exhibits expected wear from production use, including chipping and flaking to resin elements, desiccation and peeling of latex "flesh", soiling from faux blood and tissue remnants, and material fatigue to distressed garments. The jacket exhibits extensive studio-applied distressing, including bullet holes, lacerations, and abrasions consistent with on-screen battle damage. The pants are fragile with age-related tearing, and exhibit distressing with heavy wear, scuffing, soiling, and large tears revealing the exposed endo-knee effect. The chest plate shows paint loss and flaking to the metalized finish, and the latex elements have hardened with time. Each piece was intentionally distressed by the production team to reflect progressive destruction throughout the sequence. Overall, in delicate but stable condition, consistent with extensive on-screen use and age. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
