Singin' in the Rain (MGM, 1952), Debbie Reynolds "Kathy Seldon" Dress from "You Were Meant for Me" Scene. Vintage original pale lilac-gray silk chiffon flapper-style dress with a gold-silver lamé interior shell and a square neckline. The design features draped chiffon panels that cascade over the shoulder, wrap around the drop waist, and flow along the asymmetrical skirt. Round wreath-style rhinestone brooches accent the left shoulder and hip. The interior layer fastens with a left-side zipper, while the chiffon overlay closes with discreet snaps. Worn by Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds) in the iconic romantic scene where Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) transforms an empty soundstage into a magical setting and serenades her with "You Were Meant for Me" beneath a dreamy, sunset-hued backdrop. Exhibits significant production wear and age, including soiling and general fraying of the chiffon throughout. The left shoulder exhibits substantial tearing in the chiffon, and there are stains along both underarms.
