Original (9) piece character ensemble including (1) brown studded leather-paneled tabard with chainmail sleeves, (1) silver/gray plastic gorget (with "The Hound" bias label), (1) pair of 3-piece armored sleeves armor, each containing 1-fiberglass pauldron, 1-couter, and 1-vambrace (with "The Hound" bias label in both), (1) pair of brown moleskin trousers with drawstring waist and production blood staining (with "Hound" bias label), (1) olive-green double yoke cotton shirt, (1) gray neck rag with raw edge, (1) pair of suede gauntlets covered in silver plastic armor (with "The Hound" bias label in each), (1) pair of black leather molded greaves with silver metal panels center front (with "The Hound" bias labels in each), and (1) pair of black suede boots with lacing inside leg. Sandor "The Hound" Clegane (Rory McCann) wears this worn and battle-damaged signature armor ensemble throughout the early seasons of the series. Rory McCann remarked, "The armor was like a second skin. It helped me fully embody the Hound's tough and relentless nature." Michele Clapton, the costume designer, stated, "The Hound's armor was intentionally designed to look worn and battle-damaged, reflecting his brutal life and many conflicts." Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss commented, "The Hound's armor is iconic. It's a visual testament to his character's journey and survival."
