Robert Keeshan "Captain Kangaroo" and Hugh Brannum "Mr. Green Jeans" Signature 1950s Costumes from Captain Kangaroo (CBS TV, 1955-1992). Captain Kangaroo signature, classic custom-made navy-blue suit jacket with distinctive oversize kangaroo-pockets, matching trousers, and pale blue long sleeve shirt with removable collar worn by Robert Keeshan circa 1950s in his iconic portrayal as "Captain Kangaroo" in the beloved, long-running children's television series. This was the Captain's original look featured for the first 17 years of the series before the Captain switched to a red suit ensemble. The single-breasted jacket has four gold buttons-closure at the front and is fully lined in dark-blue satin with one internal breast pocket, with a pale blue pocket square, and metal lapel pin with the Captain's face and name. Also includes a removable shirt collar with rounded points, gold metal collar clip, pale blue bow tie, black suspenders, and a single removable white cuff. The costume exhibits minor wear from many years of service with some light creases to the leather suspender button attachments, and minor soiling to the collar and cuff elements, but remains in Fine, vintage condition. Acquired from Robert Keeshan. Accompanied by Hugh "Lumpy" Brannum's signature green plaid long sleeve shirt and pale green cotton coveralls made by Sweet-Orr worn circa 1950s in his portrayal as "Mr. Green Jeans". Acquired from Robert Keeshan. Also includes a TV Digest with the Captain featured on the cover. The coveralls exhibit a few light spots, but the costume remains in Fine vintage condition overall.
