Red Skelton Show (NBC/CBS TV, 1951-71), Walker Edmiston "Capt. George Edmiston" U.S. Astronaut Costume. Original astronaut costume made of padded cotton fabric with foil stretch polyester exterior. Suit features built-in rubber gloves, zip-up back, foam chest control panel, with foam neck ring for pressure helmet. The separate oversized helmet is made of a plexiglass shell with the same cotton/poly fabric as the costume. Worn by actor Walker Edmiston during Season 19, Episode 1 "Pop the Astronaut" - and featuring his name in ink on back interior. Exhibits production wear, discoloration, loose seams, staining, and general age. Helmet exhibits scratching, denting, and cracking/tearing of plexiglass. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
