Robin Wright "Princess Buttercup" Signature Red Dress from The Princess Bride. (TCF, 1987) Original red cotton period gown with herringbone texture. The floor length gown features a v-neck collar and balloon sleeves ruched and ruffled at the cuffs. Sleeves, v-neck and back closure feature lace up grommets with snap and some hook and eye fasteners. Gathered and pleated at the waist. The bottom hem has been torn, suggesting it was the gown worn in the memorable scene when the "Dread Pirate Roberts" (Carey Elwes) tears it to make a torch to fend off the "Rodents of Unusual Size" in the Fire Swamp. Retaining the internal Berman's and Nathan's bias label typed, "Robin Wright 4894 Princess Bride". Exhibiting some age and fading in areas. Includes a pair of red suede knee-boots for display. In overall Very Good condition. This iconic costume was prominently displayed at the Seattle Museum of Pop Culture for their "Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic" exhibition in 2013. Accompanied by a COA from Prop Store. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
