Description
Orson Welles "Kane" Signature "Snow Globe" (3) Piece Ensemble from Citizen Kane (TCF, 1941). Regarded as the #1 greatest American film of the 20th Century. Nominated for eight Academy Awards and winning one for Orson Welles and Herman J. Mankiewicz for Best Writing, Original Screenplay. In his very first feature film, Orson Welles was just 25 years old when he directed, co-wrote, produced and starred in Citizen Kane. The snow globe is the symbol of his childhood and the last tangible artifact he holds as he utters his last word "Rosebud". The suit consists of a (1) single breasted, peak lapel coat with internal markings and minor staining on inside right arm hole "1940", marking on inside left arm hole "A-23-4", Internal bias on interior welt pocket "Western Costume Company "BG2 #28Orson Wells 41 ½", (1) , matching single breasted 6- button waistcoat, stamped internally "Western Costume red stamp, F#91, A-23-4" Internal Western Costume Company Bias label handwritten "Orson Wells #28 41 ½" and (1) matching pair of unlined, pleated, cuffed trousers with internal braces at waist, with significant repair to crotch and handwritten costumer notes: internal, "Suit 3 PCE #F-91 1940", Internal Bias Label "Western Costume Company Orson Wells".
