    Nolan Miller Ruby Red Beaded Chiffon Gown, Matching Silk Evening Coat with Russian Sable Collar, and Bruno Magli Shoes Dyed-to-Match for Barbara Stanwyck, Worn at the 1981 Academy Awards.     The dress in ruby red silk chiffon has a bloused bodice with padded shoulders and a high slightly rounded "jewel" neckline. The floor-length A-line skirt has a 6" attached "hem." Full sleeves are gathered at the shoulder and cuff. Cuff (2 3/4") is secured with three snaps. The dress closes at back with a zipper and hook & eye, and is lined with ruby red chiffon over dark red charmeuse with a secondary attached 4 1/2" "hem" in a darker charmeuse and chiffon. At the interior waist is a ribbon belt tied to the lining and secured with hook & eye. The dress is hand beaded in vertical broken lines of ruby red bugle beads with 1/4" spacing. At the neckline are free loops of rocaille beads. Interspersed through the bodice and upper skirt are flower and leaf appliques (using the silk satin of the evening coat), which are enhanced with rocaille beads and silver and red sequins. Accompanying the dress is a 1" beaded ruby red belt, edged in a zig zag of rocaille beads and 3" satin heels dyed to match the dress and coat. The bottom of each shoe is labeled N. Miller and in wide marker "Stanwyck."

    The coat is en suite with the dress in ruby red silk twill. The flared a-line design with "princess" seams features a shawl collar overlayed with notched Russian sable collar. It closes at waist with two buttons, and has two side seam pockets. A set of double pleats at the back is created by an inset panel at the waist. The coat is fully lined with satin taffeta.
