Nolan Miller Designed Ensemble for Dynasty, Consisting of a Gold Lamé Chiffon Strapless Gown, Overcoat and Turban Worn by Diahann Carroll in her Role as Dominique. Circa 1985; gown: lamé, satin; coat: lamé; turban: lamé, wool felt; label: Nolan Miller; dress size: 6/8. This ensemble was designed by Nolan Miller for Diahann Carroll as Dominique on Dynasty, Carroll's role from 1984-1987. In deep green and gold lamé chiffon, the strapless floor-length gown features a fitted, bonded, draped bodice and deep green satin lining. The bodice has a center back zipper closure finished with a hook & eye, a weight at the center front neckline, and a ribbon belt tied into the waist that is closed by a set of hooks & eyes. The floor-length overcoat, in a related deep green and gold lamé, has straight front panels, open at the center, the edge bound in a tape using the reverse side of the fabric. The back is a single panel with an inverted pleat at the center neckline. Accompanying the coat is a turban built on a felt form, wrapped with the deep green and gold lamé used for the overcoat.
