Nolan Miller Design for Dynasty, Evening Suite for Linda Evans. Ca. 1985; four-ply silk crepe, charmeuse, bugle beads; Label: Nolan Miller Couture; Dress Size: 8.

Long straight jacket and full length skirt in pin striped four-ply silk crepe. The jacket is "V" necked with four silvered knot buttons. The front opening is secured with hook & eye at top and a snap between each button. An amazing take on the pinned striped suit, the stripes are hand beaded in silver bugle beads. An inverted pleat finishes the back panel. The jacket is fully lined in a black satin charmeuse.
The straight skirt is slit to mid thigh left of center front, with the back flared at the calf forming two inverted pleats. The zipper at center back is finished with a hook & eye. The skirt is also fully lined in charmeuse.

This suite is characteristic of the tailored, classic aesthetic that Nolan created for Linda Evans as "Krystle" on Dynasty. In his desire to capitalize on her broad shoulders and small hips, he dressed her in triangular compositions with exaggerated shoulder pads, coming down to very narrow pants or skirt. This "look" certainly caught the attention of the viewing public, with Nolan becoming famous for Linda's blouses. In fact her shoulders became wider as the seasons progressed, and by the end of the series Linda's shoulders were wider than John Forsythe's, who played her husband, "Blake Carrington." This suite is in Very Fine condition with some beads ajar; the episode is unknown, but Linda Evans wore this in personal appearances. From the Nolan Miller Collection.
