Nolan Miller Costume Design for Poker Alice, Three-Piece Ivory and Pink Dressing Costume Worn by Elizabeth Taylor. 1987; Gown: French lace, velvet; Skirt: silk crepe; Camisole: silk jacquard; Dress Size: 4/6.

Dressing set composed of lace dressing gown, camisole and skirt. All edges of the short length dressing gown in hand-pieced French lace are finished with a scalloped lace. The gown opens at the front and is secured with black velvet ribbon. The raglan sleeve has a black velvet bow at the attached cap at the shoulder. Sleeve flares out to the wrist, finished with a black, velvet bow and extends over the top of the hand.

The fitted silk jacquard camisole is closed at back with a zipper and hook & eye. Cream lace with interlaced pink satin ribbon defines the shape, tracing the shoulder straps down the side front seams and the neckline with an additional horizontal run just below the neckline. The camisole hem is edged with a pink finishing lace.

The straight skirt in dusty pink, is slightly gathered at the waist with a hook & eye closure, and a boned "V" shaped overlay in dusty pink taffeta. At the hem is a 10" ruffle with pencil pleats, headed with cream ribbon interlaced with pink satin ribbon, and pink lace at the hem.

Nolan Miller designed this dressing costume for Elizabeth Taylor in her role as Alice Moffat in the made-for-TV movie Poker Alice. Nolan has a long history working for Elizabeth Taylor and fondly remembers his early days when he had a standing joke with his staff..."If Elizabeth Taylor calls, I'll be back in an hour." One day he received a call while he was away, calling back knowing it was a joke. Elizabeth Taylor answered and a wonderful working relationship and friendship was started. Fine condition. From the Nolan Miller Collection.
