Nichelle Nichols "Lt. Uhura" Starfleet Duty Uniform from Season 3 of Star Trek: The Original Series (Paramount TV, 1966-1969). Vintage original signature bias-paneled red double-knit polyester duty uniform dress with corded black scooped and peaked neck collar, flared integral mini-skirt, with slit from left hem to waist, retaining the original gold lamé Starfleet Engineering insignia on the left chest and gold laminate Lieutenant rank braids on sleeve cuffs. A hidden zipper follows the right front panel seam down to the waist, with hook and eye fastener at the collar. Retaining costumer's internal fabric bias label illegible due to age and laundering. Includes original matching red Danskin briefs to protect Nichols' modesty due to the very short design of the dress. Third season uniforms marked the departure from velour to more durable synthetic fabric. Exhibiting expected age, production wear, and minor fabric pulls. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
