Description

Marlene Dietrich Kismet Screen-Worn Wig. Classic screen siren Marlene Dietrich wore this blonde wig as the character Jamilla in the 1944 Oscar nominated classic film Kismet. Hand-tied and made from human hair, the wig includes both the MGM original black cardboard storage box and wig stock record card. The wig box has been labeled 516, LT. Brown (but crossed out and "Blond" written over it) 15" M. Dietrich on the front. The card reads: Stock no. 516, Marlene Dietrich LT. Brown 15". The wig has been restyled for photography and is in good condition, the nape lace is fragile. Lace was intentionally done to bring her natural hair to lay over the wig. The studio box cover has some tears along the edges, and both the back and right side edges are missing. Overall, the three-piece wig ensemble is in Good condition. From The MGM Wig Archive.
