Magic Johnson Dual Autographed Game-Worn Los Angeles Lakers Converse "Triple Double" (1990-91) Shoes. Original Magic Johnson autographed, game-worn Converse Brand "Triple Double" shoes. The shoes feature a white leather upper with Laker-colored purple/gold accents. The "Magic" logo is embossed on both tongues, lateral sides, heels, and outsoles. The inner size tag indicates that the shoes are US 14 while stating that they are a "SAMPLE". Magic Johnson autographed both shoes in black marker. Both signatures are located on the lateral heels that also include his jersey number "32." The Converse "Triple Double" were Johnson's first official signature shoes bearing his nickname. In the 90-91 season, Magic averaged 19.4 points, 7 rebounds and 12.5 assists per game and was named to the All-NBA First Team. The Lakers made it to the 1991 NBA Finals but lost against Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls in game 5. That same year, Magic Johnson's career came to a halt after receiving the news that he had contracted HIV. Minor scuffs throughout the upper of the shoes and creases on both toe boxes. Both midsoles have deteriorated due to the age of the shoes and the materials that they were constructed with. Exhibits game wear. Truly a magnificent piece for any basketball collector or die-hard Laker fan. These shoes can be restored. Obtained from Magic Johnson. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.Auction Info
