Description

Les Misérables (Mandalay, 1998), Liam Neeson "Jean Valjean" and Geoffrey Rush "Javert" Group of Ensembles. Original group of (6) costume pieces including (1) brown floor-length canvas coat with single-breasted wooden buttons, (1) multi-colored yarn woven vest, (1) tan Henley shirt, (1) pair of black wool pants. These items are intentionally-distressed with patches and contrasting stitches. Also including (1) black floor-length faux leather coat with 4-strapped buckle closures and (1) black felt bicorn hat with ribbon embellishment. Each item has a Tirelli bias label. Jean Valjean's (Liam Neeson) ensemble contains a bias label in the coat and vest that is handwritten "Liam Neeson, Double," and the shirt and pants only say "Double." The Javert (Geoffrey Rush) coat's bias label is handwritten "Geoffrey Rush, Double," and the hat is labeled "Double, Javert." Both characters wore these respective costumes at the beginning of the film. Valjean wears his ensemble when Bishop Myriel (Peter Vaughan) shows him kindness and decides to turn his life around. Displays production wear and age as well as intentional studio distressing. The black coat's faux leather is deteriorating. Obtained from Mandalay Entertainment. Comes with a COA from Heritage Auctions.
