Description
Lana Turner The Bad and The Beautiful Screen-Worn Wigs. These stunning blonde wigs were worn by the immortal seductive movie star Lana Turner for the 1952 Academy Award-winning picture The Bad and The Beautiful. Hand-tied and made from human hair, the two wigs include the original MGM studio box as well as two stock cards. The beige cardboard box is labeled on the front with the stock no. 718 B C D as well as the descriptions "¾ Falls Blonde", 5"-8"-7" and name of the star L. Turner. One of the wig stock record cards includes the typed text: "Stock No. 718 A. Original Player: Lana Turner, Description: Blonde ¾ fall, Prod. #1581". The other wig card has "Stock No. 718 B-C-D, Original Player: Lana Turner, Description: Blonde ¾ Falls, Prod. #1581" typed on it. The box has a few scuff markings and two half-inch light brown water stains on the top cover. Though one wig has been restyled for photography, the ensemble is in overall Fine condition. Both wigs have the studio tag sewn on the inside. From The MGM Wig Archive.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
