Description
Ken Mayer "Major Robertson" Signature Jacket from Space Patrol (ABC, 1950-1955). Vintage original uniform tunic worn by Major Robertson (Mayer), consisting of a red and green paneled wool uniform tunic with short standing mandarin collar, smock-style snap, and diagonal zipper front closure. Retaining internal "Macintosh" maker's bias label handwritten, "Ken Mayer, June 1951, 77479". A staple of early 1950s Saturday morning kids TV, Space Patrol was also the first regular live West Coast morning network program to be beamed to the East Coast. Jacket exhibits one small moth hole at the upper right front. Lightning bolt insignia from the front panel is absent and missing two snaps at the shoulder and a single button at the waist.
