    John Wayne Personally Owned and Worn Shriner Hat and Case (1970). Crafted of maroon felt with a black tassel and elaborate adornment spelling out "Al Malaikah / Ambassador-At-Large" around the Shriner's moon-and-saber logo, with "Duke Wayne" in gold on the inner hat band, measures approximately 7" high. Al Malaikah is the name of the Shrine Center in Los Angeles where John Wayne was awarded this fez in 1970. Included with the hat is a 9" x 8 1/2" x 8 3/4" black hat case with "John Wayne" and the Shiner's logo emblazoned in gold, a 12 1/2" x 10 1/2" photo perma-plaque showing the Duke wearing the hat with two other Shriners, and red hat form from Masonic Supply in New York. Fez is in Very Fine condition, showing minimal wear. Case exhibits minor wear from handling and age. COA from Heritage Auctions.
