Jesse White "Ol' Lonely" Maytag Repairman TV Commercial Uniform. One of the most beloved and recognizable commercials in television history is Jesse White's portrayal of "Ol' Lonely" or "the lonely repairman" from Maytag's advertisements that reminded consumers of the brand's reputation for dependability. The Maytag repairman character became a widely known metaphor for the professional whose services were rarely required. This circa 1980 television commercial uniform consists of a royal blue zip-front Dacron/Rayon blend jacket with Maytag logo patch on the left breast, matching royal blue trousers, white long-sleeve uniform shirt with large Maytag Red Carpet Service logo on the back, red vinyl bowtie, and black leather belt. The costume is in Very fine condition overall. Acquired from Jesse White.
