Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) Partial Kingsguard Armor Set from Game of Thrones (HBO® Original 2011-2019, Season 1). Original (5) piece character ensemble including (1) brass painted polyurethane helmet with 3-fins and cream etched details on the sides, (1) brass painted polyurethane 2-piece cuirass featuring a breastplate with attached tasset (made of leather and metal "dragon scales"), buckle fastenings, and cream etched details, (1) pair of attached polyurethane pauldrons with metal "dragon scale" accents, (1) pair of matching polyurethane greaves with leather closures, and (1) pair of leather vambraces with metal "dragon scale" accents. This distinctive armor is worn by Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) throughout Season 1, including Episode 1, "Winter is Coming," when the Lannisters arrive in Winterfell. The Kingsguard armor was one of Michele Clapton's first designs as the costume designer for the show. Clapton explained, "The inspiration for Jaime's armor came from a combination of samurai and medieval European influences. We wanted to reflect his noble status and the Lannister family's wealth while also ensuring that the armor was functional for combat scenes."? She added that the armor's intricate detailing was meant to emphasize Jaime's elite position within the Kingsguard and his family's powerful legacy?. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau spoke about the impact of the armor on his performance, stating, "Wearing that armor immediately made me feel like Jaime. It was heavy, imposing, and incredibly detailed, which helped me get into character and understand Jaime's sense of duty and pride." ?Ensemble exhibits production wear including distress and scuffing.
