Description
Galanos, Valentino, and Blass Vintage Little Black Dresses, Owned by Edie Adams. A wonderful lot of treasures spanning the 1960s, the first dress an A-line design by Bill Blass for Maurice Rentner with two pleats at front and back that open to fine pencil pleats in crepe chiffon. The second piece, an early Galanos with the label reading Galanos for Amelia Gray, is a V-necked dress with spaghetti straps, overlays front and back in crepe chiffon swish freely. The third dress is a stunning Valentino in black crepe de chine with a shaped bodice from which is suspended the gathered skirt. Its highly structured interior, with a stayed corset and interior ribbon belt, support this design well. Last but certainly not least is a is an off the shoulder A-line design, slightly later with a simple Galanos label, with three layers of crepe chiffon over satin, and what makes this lot particularly interesting is the interior label reading "front" for Edie's quick stage changes. These four exquisite designs are in Very Fine condition, ready to add to your collection of classics. Accompanied by a hardcover copy of Edie Adams' autobiography, Sing a Pretty Song.
