Elizabeth Taylor National Velvet Screen-Worn Wig. This beautiful brown wig was worn by the two-time Academy Award-winning actress Elizabeth Taylor for her break-out role as Velvet Brown in the 1944 multiple Oscar-winning family classic National Velvet. Hand-tied and made from human hair, the wig includes the original Max Factor box and the MGM wig stock record card. The black cardboard box has been labeled "533, DK. BROWN, 10", E. TAYLOR" on the front. The wig stock record index card reads: "Stock No. 533, Original Player: E. TAYLOR , Description: DK. BROWN 10", PROD. # 1315" in typed text. The wig has been restyled for photography and is in Very Good condition, however, the lace is slightly frayed and could use some minor repair. On the box, the entire left side edge of the top cover is missing and the corner edges are broken. Some tears appear along the paper as well. The box is in Fair condition.
