Edie Adams' Screen-Worn Helen Rose Made in Paris Costumes. This lavish Helen Rose ensemble, designed for Edie Adams as Irene Chase in the 1966 romantic comedy Made in Paris, is an extravagant display of coque feathers and beading. The ensemble is composed of two gowns and a cape. The first black dress, in velvet with a gathered V-neck, is form-fitting to the knee where it flares out with a satin skirt, slit at the front and covered in rows of coque feathers. The second, a straight form-fitting dress with a straight neckline in black crepe chiffon over a lining of flesh color silk crepe, features a bodice with a diapered beaded pattern and skirt embellished with coque feathers and black sequins. Finally, the black crepe chiffon cape (with diapered beading in black bugle and facetted beads) is finished with three rows of coque feathers providing a dramatic, feathered covering. In Very Fine condition, and accompanied by photo matches provided by Edie's own Made in Paris publicity clippings. Accompanied by a hardcover copy of Edie Adams' autobiography, Sing a Pretty Song. From the Ernie Kovacs/Edie Adams Estate Archive.
