Description

Downton Abbey (ITV, 2010-2015), Michelle Dockery "Lady Mary Crawley" Day Dress Ensemble from Season 5, Episode 8 and Season 6, Episode 9. Original (2) piece costume ensemble including (1) cream satin drop-waist dress with wide brown satin trim, asymmetric scarf design that drapes down the front and back, and hook-and-eye and snap closures at the top of the back and (1) brown woven cloche style hat with wide curved brim and wide striped band with a triple-layered bow. Worn by Lady Mary Crawley (Michelle Dockery) in Season 5, Episode 8 when she attends a luncheon that turns sour when Lady Rose MacClare (Lily James) receives incriminating photos of her fiancé with a mystery woman. Dockery wore the ensemble again in Season 6, Episode 9 when she visited the Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) with her father, Robert Crawley (Hugh Bonneville). Exhibits minor production wear and age with small snag near the neckline. Provenance: Originally sold in a Celebrity Charity Auction for Marie Curie with Jane Horrocks.
