Description

Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) Dragon Pit Ensemble from Game of Thrones (HBO® Original 2011-2019, Season 7). Original (4) piece character costume including (1) gray cotton-blend coat with herringbone pattern and fur lining (with "stunt" bias label), (1) charcoal permanent pleated skirt on silk body (with "Dany" bias label), (1) maroon paper silk dragon pleat sash, and (1) reproduction silver-colored triple-dragon head brooch/cape clasp (3" x 2.5") and 40.5" long chain crafted by the piece's original artisan. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) wears this militaristic costume in Season 7, Episode 7, "The Dragon and the Wolf," in her first meeting with Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) when she and her allies ask for her enemy's help defending the realm against the Night King's (Vladimir Furdik) forces. The cape, silhouette, and dragon chain all demonstrate Dany's confidence as the commander of her formidable army of Unsullied and Dothraki. Costume designer Michele Clapton noted, "This costume was designed to project strength and authority. The cape and chain symbolize her connection to her dragons and her role as their leader." Emilia Clarke, reflecting on this scene, said, "Daenerys is at a point where she must show her strength and determination, not just to Cersei, but to everyone present." Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss explained the significance of this encounter: "This meeting is crucial because it brings together characters with intense histories and sets the stage for the final conflicts." Clarke added, "It's a moment where Daenerys must assert her power and demonstrate her willingness to do whatever it takes to protect the realm." Exhibits production wear. Comes with a COA from HBO and Heritage Auctions.
