Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) Death Ensemble from Game of Thrones (HBO® Original 2011-2019, Season 8). Original (2) piece character ensemble including (1) graphite gray and oxblood ombre leather coat with an asymmetric bodice that closes in the front, laser-embossed dragon scale pattern, silk ties at the cuffs, red leather lining treated with metallic black on top with cuts that give it a scale effect, and rig holes and loops on the inside. Also includes (1) silver-toned dragon bone chain with 2- O-rings and a group of 3-dragon heads with a hook on the back that is worn over the right shoulder. At the center of the coat's chest is a small, bloodied hole. Worn by Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) in the series' final episode, Season 8, Episode 6, "The Iron Throne," this costume prominently features in one of the show's most pivotal scenes. After burning down King's Landing, Daenerys celebrates her victory with the Dothraki and Unsullied army. When Jon Snow (Kit Harington) meets Daenerys in the throne room of the Red Keep, he expresses his grief over the atrocities he witnessed in battle. "The world we need is a world of mercy," Jon tells her, a sentiment that echoes the internal conflict tearing him apart. As he kisses her, he plunges a dagger into her heart, a moment that Emilia Clarke described as "heart-wrenching and shocking." Kit Harington, recalled in an interview, "Jon is devastated by what he's seen. He loved Daenerys, but he can't condone her actions." Afterward, Drogon dramatically melts down the Iron Throne with dragon fire, then carries her body away. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss explained, "The destruction of the Iron Throne symbolizes the end of the brutal quest for power that defined the series." The costume includes holes and loops for rigging, used to film her body being lifted away. Ensemble exhibits production wear, including cracking of the treatment to the fabric.
