Description
Carol Burnett "Charwoman" Tattered Lavender Cardigan, Floral Blouse, Cotton Skirt, Pantaloons, Floppy Hat, Red Socks, and Work Boots, Designed by Bob Mackie from The Carol Burnett Show (CBS TV, 1967-1978). "Charwoman" tattered lavender cardigan with holes, floral blouse with gathered mock collar, pink and lavender cotton skirt with gathered waist and yellow apron sewn in, lemon yellow with polka dots Crepe de Chine pantaloons, blue with pink dots floppy hat, red socks, and brown suede work boots worn by Carol Burnett on The Carol Burnett Show. Ensemble designed by Bob Mackie. As the charwoman, Burnett ended each show with the bittersweet refrain, "I'm so glad we had this time together, just to have a laugh or sing a song," became a cultural touchstone. One of Burnett's other charwoman costumes is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Acquired from Bob Mackie & Ret Turner. Very Good, with studio distress, and general wear.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
