Buddy Ebsen's Coonskin Cap. Davy Crockett's status as an American legend reached new heights in the 1950s, when he was popularized by five episodes of the Disneyland television series loosely based on his life. The shows starred Fess Parker as Crockett and Buddy Ebsen as his friend and sidekick, George E. Russel. The role remains one of Ebsen's most memorable and popular, and this "coonskin" cap (actually made from a variety of animal furs, none of them raccoon) was worn by him in later years during his one-man stage show, part of a tribute by him to the popular character. It is in Excellent condition, the only flaw being a small hole where a seam has slightly separated on the top of the hat. From the Buddy Ebsen Estate.
