    Description

An Ernest Borgnine Cap from "All Quiet on the Western Front." CBS Television, 1979. Gray wool, red wool trim, two buttons affixed to front, blue felt-tip ink handwritten annotation in interior reads "Ian" [Ian Holm who portrayed "Himmelstoss"]; evidently worn by both Holm and Borgnine who portrayed "Stanislaus Katczinsky" -- a role that garnered him an Emmy nomination for 'Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or a Special' -- as it ended up in Borgnine's possession after production wrapped. (Please note part of the interior lining is missing due to age and wear.)

Included with a Letter of Provenance signed by Nancee Borgnine and Cris Borgnine, Ernest's children.
