    A Union Army Uniform from "The Undefeated" and "Rio Lobo." 20th Century Fox, 1969; National General Pictures, 1970. Three pieces; the first a navy blue wool coat, six button front closure, Colonel's insignia on either shoulder, Western Costume Co. label reads "No. 2869-1 / John Wayne #1 / Chest 48 1/2 / Sleeve 19; the second a faded navy blue raw silk shirt, two breast pockets, tuck-in tab on placket, Colonel's insignia on either shoulder (though ones in film seem slightly different), WCC tag now illegible as shirt was dyed; the third a pair of uniform pants, made of faded navy blue wool, wide golden-yellow stripe down either leg, stirrups at hem, WCC label reads "No. 2869-2 / John Wayne #1 / Waist 40 1/2," further WCC stamp on inside waistband; worn by Wayne as he portrayed "Colonel John Henry Thomas" in the opening battle sequence and in the resignation scene both at the beginning of "The Undefeated" which co-starred Rock Hudson; also worn as Wayne portrayed "Colonel Cord McNally" in "Rio Lobo" a year later.
