    Description

A Training Suit from "Rocky III." Metro Goldwyn Mayer/United Artists, 1982. Black satin zip front jacket reading "Italian Stallion" on back with an "R" at left chest, together with a pair of matching black satin pants with gold stripe, worn during multiple training scenes by Stallone as "Rocky Balboa."

"Rocky in the third movie has become extraordinarily successful and it's gone to his head a little bit. He is not training like he should. He's lost the Eye of the Tiger. And it's now about flash. And he designs everything, including this outfit, to be more flamboyant and less serious. This is what he wore in the beginning. It's a big, big story point, showing how his values have become a little overblown and he has to get back to reality later on. So this is at the height of his success."
