A Rosalind Russell Pair of Shoes from "Auntie Mame." Warner Bros., 1958. A pair of fancy, strappy heels made with a white silk upper painted in pink and white zigzag stripes and a leather sole; inside lining of each reads "Delman / New York-Paris;" handwritten annotation on inside lining near toe of each further reads "C13407 / S9401W / 8N /S23;" though marked as size 8 Narrow, shoes are more like a modern-day size 7 Narrow; worn by Russell in the "Egypt" scene where she reads a note from Patrick while riding a camel. Interestingly, Russell wears another pair of shoes that seem to be identical (except in a darker shade) in the funny scene where Robin Hughes [as the Irishman author, "Brian O'Bannion"] attacks her by the fireplace; from The Collection of John Strangi. (Please note the ankle strap of the left shoe is broken but can be repaired.)

These shoes were originally sold in the Christie's East (New York) auction titled Film & Entertainment Collectibles, Sale 7889, June 25, 1996, Lot 701A, final price realized was $920.
