Description

    A Maureen O'Sullivan Flapper-Style Dress, Circa 1920s. Handmade, black silk, short sleeves, scalloped hem at knee, adorned with thousands of clear bugle beads in a zig-zag pattern, matching self-belt; together with a scarf, made of black sheer netting, adorned with thousands of heavy silver beads in a floral pattern, further included with a pouch-style purse, made of black knit cotton, also adorned with thousands of same heavy silver beads; evidently a special ensemble as the actress saved this outfit for over 60 years; all pieces beautifully constructed and tailored; from the Estate of Patrick Villiers Farrow, brother of Mia, son of Maureen O'Sullivan and director John Farrow. (Please note there is a big tear in the front of dress and there are other smaller tears throughout dress and scarf due to the weight of the beads; additionally, many other beads are missing from all three pieces.)
