A Maria Schell Period Gown from "The Brothers Karamazov." Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1958. Designed by Walter Plunkett, moss-green velvet, v-neck and back, short sleeves, lace trim at bustline, bustle in back, zip-up and eye-and-hook back closure, label reads "1720 5931 / Maria Schell;" worn by the actress as she portrayed "Grushenka" in the film that co-starred Yul Brynner, Claire Bloom, Lee J. Cobb, and William Shatner. (Please note the padding in the bust has disintegrated and turned to sawdust as it does.)
