    A Joseph Cotten Pair of Boots from "Duel in the Sun." Selznick Releasing Organization, 1946. Made of brown leather, unique appliqué resembling an 'H' appears on the top inside and outside of both boots, striped elastic bootstraps, stacked heels, white decorative stitching; worn by the actor as he portrayed "Jesse McCanles" in the film co-starring Jennifer Jones, Gregory Peck, Lionel Barrymore, and Lillian Gish; included is a lobby card from the film showing Cotten wearing the boots with a lengthy inscription from him penned in black felt-tip ink reading in part "the boots that I'm / wearing.../ I wore / in the movie Duel / in the Sun;" further signed by Jennifer Jones. (Please note these boots are now in heavily worn condition due to use and age.)
