    A José Ferrer Group of Costumes from the Broadway Musical "Man of La Mancha," 1966. Many pieces worn by the actor on stage as he portrayed "Don Quixote" including: 1) a teal velvet period vest and matching breeches, label in pants reads "Brooks-Van Horn / New York-Philadelphia / Costumes / Richard Kiley W 35 1/2" [Kiley being the actor whom Ferrer replaced in 1966 when he took over the lead role]; 2) a white shirt, label reads "Brooks-Van Horn / New York-Philadelphia / Costumes;" 3) a period jacket made of very stiff rust-colored tweed; 4) two pairs of gray tights; 5) a pair of knee pads; 6) a pair of painted gray leather shoes with buckles; 7) a piece of colored fabric used in the scene when it's given to the character "Aldonza" as a memento; 8) faux moustaches; and 9) the famous 'Helmet of Mambrino' (made of tin and spray-painted a bronze color) where an entire song is sung onstage about the search for it.
