A John Wayne Vest from "The Cowboys." Warner Bros., 1972. Made of tan-colored leather with a monk's cloth back, small lapels, four frontal slit pockets, seven button front closure; Western Costume Co. label reads "No. 2005-2 / John Wayne #2 / Chest 49," further W.C.C. stamp on inside beige cotton lining; worn by the actor in the first scene (where he's trying to break the horse) as well as in most subsequent sequences throughout the film as he portrayed "Wil Andersen" in the beloved classic. (Please note the vest is heavily stained with sweat and other dirt, some of the leather has worn thin on the back yolk, and the inside neck seam needs repair.)
